Determinism vs free will – Crash Course

  1. When properly defined, there is no conflict between determinism (the belief that objects and forces in our universe behave in a reliable and thus predictable fashion) and free will (deciding for ourselves what we WILL do, when FREE of coercion or other undue influence). There is no conflict between (a) the fact that I made the choice and (b) the fact that my choice was inevitable. Both are simultaneously true.
